NV Nuon is a very large Dutch energy business.

Extracts from its annual accounts to 31.12.04 reveal:

Its Shareholders are Dutch provincial and municipal authorities.

It has recommended "going private".

Its proposed dividend to its shareholders was €106m.

It has a dividend policy of paying 45% of its post tax profits to shareholders with the objective of at least €45m per annum.

It is the largest energy supplier, by customer numbers, in the Dutch market and services approximately 33% of the Netherlands.

It has an expansion policy in Belgium and Germany.

It wishes to increase the proportion of 'green' supply in its fuel mix (but the proportion fell in 2004).

That the incentive measures to promote the use of renewable energy in the Netherlands have now been abandoned.

It is facing major uncertainty in its Dutch market due to Government proposals to force "unbundling" i.e. Separate out the production and supply from the grid business of the Dutch energy companies.

It disconnected 7800 customers in 2004.

It has a provision of €33m for possible soil pollution obligations.
